Alex Sarrigeorgiou is an actor, writer, and filmmaker based in New York City. Half Greek and half Romanian, Alex grew up in Athens, Greece and studied drama at Vassar College.
A SAG-AFTRA member, she has appeared in numerous independent films that center intimate, character-driven storytelling, as well as in New York theater. She also has an expanding body of work in voiceover. Alex brings her love of poetry to her work as a filmmaker, telling lyrical stories about personal transformation and existential despair, with female and queer experiences at the center. Alex’s debut feature, In Transit, which she wrote and stars in alongside Jennifer Ehle and François Arnaud, is directed by Jaclyn Bethany. The film premiered in competition at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, screened at the Deauville American Film Festival, and had its North American premiere at NewFest, with more festivals to come. Alex's poems have appeared in Bear Review, Red Tree Review, Bodega Magazine, Fugue, The Tishman Review, *82 Review, and Hypertrophic Literary, among others. She is an ISA Development Slate writer and was listed on the ISA's list of Top 25 Screenwriters to Watch in 2022. |
